Construction and interior design of an office building.
The implementation of a steel structure and light facades (pre-weathered zinc), on a wooden frame, allowed to avoid the pile foundation used for all the other buildings of the site (production, storage and administrative buildings, with a total surface of +/- 25.000m2). This choice generated a significant financial saving and allowed an important reduction of the execution time, reduced to 5 months.

Saint - Job

The land is located at the corner of chaussée de Saint-Job and rue du Château d'eau, in Uccle.
The project consists of the construction of 34 housing units distributed as follows:

32 units in 8 small buildings of maximum 3 levels, with 4 units per building. These buildings are located on either side of a new road to be created perpendicular to Chaussee de Saint-Job.
2 housing units in a small building with 3 facades attached to the adjoining wall of n°180 of Chaussée de Saint-Job.

The building, which dates back to 1973, was in need of extensive renovation: after more than 30 years of service, the finishes were worn down and the technical installations were completely obsolete, both in terms of comfort and energy.
The facades, consisting of prefabricated elements made of architectural concrete, were poorly insulated and had numerous thermal bridges. For economic reasons, the decision was made to maintain the existing facade and to cover it with a new, light, high-performance skin, except for the corner of the building where the original elements were removed for architectural reasons.
At the street corner of the building two additional levels were added.
In order to allow the division of each floor into two distinct rental zones, a new vertical circulations (elevators and freight elevators) pole was designed.
The implementation of a light structure and facade cladding (aluminum, terracotta, and zinc) made it possible to avoid any intervention on the existing pile foundations. The new technical installations meet the latest requirements imposed by the European Commission.
